What are the places you would recommend people do not miss in Southeast Asia? I think my #1 is northern Laos, especially Muang Ngoi and Nong Khiaw! And the "sticky waterfall" outside of Chiang Mai. Unlike any experience I've ever had!

Mine would be Don Det in Laos - it's one of the Four Thousand Islands in the Mekong river and close to the border with Cambodia. It's a tiny little island with no proper roads (and no cars), and I believe it's only had electricity for the last 10 years or so! I stayed in a wooden bungalow overlooking the river which came with it's own ensuite bathroom, cold water shower and hammock (more and less luxurious options are available!) Managed to do a kayaking trip to see the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins and the world's widest waterfall (Khone Phapheng) whilst I was there too.
Also Khao Sok National Park in Thailand comes a close second. It's a huge turquoise lake surrounded by limestone cliffs and the scenery is absolutely stunning. I stayed in a floating bungalow on the lake and it was one of the most amazing experiences.
