Usually Hostelworld or booking.com like most. Sometimes after finding the place I want to stay in I'll look directly on their website. When I'm not feeling lazy that is.
I mostly use booking.com - they give discount on some places when you've booked enough stays through them. But sometimes Hostelworld or directly through the hostel website
I use booking.com and hostelworld as well. Sometimes it's cheaper to book directly from the hostel website. So basically I always use booking and hostelworld to look for great options. Than I check if it's cheaper to book at the original website of the hostel :)
Booking.com is always easy and I have never found much difference in prices compared to hostel world.
Depends on the time of year and what kind of traveller you are. I like the idea of booking the night before/day of just for the added flexibility. You never know what destination you’ll fall in love with a decide to stay a bit longer or find a travel buddy to book accommodation with. You may not get your first choice but there is always (or at least 99% of the time) be something. However if you already have a set itinerary book ahead to get your ideal hostel.
