Hi, so I'm planning to go for a 6-month gap backpacking trip after working for 6 months, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for how to go about planning and the best places to travel in Europe on a budget?
Also if anyone has any ideas on places that are less touristy and show the more authentic side to their country that would be awesome!!
Thanks in advance :)
okay, thank you so much!!
I'm also thinking of doing that in 2022! but only for 2 months, i think. I would say that if you are planning on visiting Venice you should also travel to the other islands like Burano (which is beautiful) that are in the surrounding area. They are much more authentically Venetian and generally, if you visit tourist spots earlier in the morning you'll get a much better idea about the real culture, as most tourists don't arrive until midday.
Im planning the same thing! Most of the places I want to go are kind of touristy but I'd recommend watching a bunch of youtube videos and reading articles about countries you want to go to find the things that are off the beaten path.
