Hi guys, I’m planning on going on a 4/6 month backpacking trip to south east Asia: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines and Bali.

i leave on the 8th Feb 2022, is anyone else in this forum thinking of going during that time (six months From then)?

Im just been trying to save as much money as a I can at this point. I really do hope the borders will be open in the next 6 months because 2022 is the year that I really want to travel.I was thinking of booking my London to Bangkok flight and then my Denpasar to London return. I would have prefered to buy a single way and see where the wind takes me but my there is only so much that my mum’s heart can take 😂. So I’ve chosen to fly with Singapore Airlines because they have a free flexi return ticket where you can change location and dates for free up until 2023. So that will be good if i change my date or location. I do hope that tourism will be back on because I was soo excited to meet new people And go on adventures.

@Ruby i hope so too! So much has changed even from when I first posted back in August. Thailand (my first stop) is basically opening up with limited to zero restrictions in the coMing weeks. I’m hoping to use the Bangkok sandbox system by the time that I want to travel. I think I’m just ready to rip the bandaid off. Time has really flown by and in around two months it will be January! this is my first solo backpacking trip. I’m super nervous about the unknown but it’s outweighed by the excitement of the experience and opportunities,if that makes sense? Hopefully we can do an update in the next couple of months! I would love to know when your officially heading out!

From the UK and fining it a bit overwhelming, but exciting. Also aware of that Covid could very well still be very prominent and the uncertainty is a bit frustrating, like of whether countries would actually let tourists in! How about you?
