Hey!! Hoping to travel around Europe interrailling for 3 months next year. If anyone had any advice on the best backpack to use that would be amazing! Generally looking at the hand luggage size just because I want to be forced to pack light. Also any essential items from your own journeys that I should include in mine would be great help

Using bars of soap/shampoo/conditioner can save SO much space! Mine all lasted me 3 months of travel and I still had loads left over. They have loads in LUSH and Ethique (which in the UK stocks in Holland&Barrett) 😊
Helps so much when packing hand-luggage only!
I agree with Lauren Osprey Fairpoint/Fairview 40L is deffo most popular in terms of backpacks. I can also recommend the Eagle Creek Global Companion 40L.
It's definitely pretty overplayed, but I have to say that I love my osprey farpoint 40 in small! I used to have a classic stuff sack backpack that definitely is great if you are trekking but for travel it is just so amazing to have that clamshell opening. Definitely don't get anything over 50 liters, and 40 or less is even better if you can swing it! (the farpoint 40 size small is actually 38 and it works great if you pack about a week's work of clothes and want to fit some small souvenirs)
